11/6/09 AT&T assists Girl Scouts with Technology Upgrades

Posted by normawoods on November 9, 2009

In February of 2008, a reorganization of the Girl Scout councils took place in Georgia.  The Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia was formed to combine the six Georgia Girl Scout councils outside Atlanta into one.

AT&T Inc. provided a $25,000 award that will enable the organization to integrate and centralize its technology systems and data. The newly formed Girl Scout council has used the grant to enhance the efficiency of its technology.  Upgrades to the leadership training program have been very beneficial, especially to volunteers and troop leaders.  It is so critical for non-profit organizations to have support from corporations.  AT&T has proven to be a valuable partner for the Girl Scouts!

The Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia Inc., with corporate headquarters located in Macon, is comprised of the following Georgia councils: Girl Scouts, Central Savannah River Council; Girl Scouts of Concharty Council; Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia; Girl Scouts of Northeast Georgia; the Girl Scout Council of Savannah, Ga.; and Girl Scouts of Southwest.

More information about the AT&T grant can be found at the link below:

this is a great PR move for both organizations. Girl Scouts is a vital tradition to our generations past and helping it keep up with the times as much as possible increases chances of future participation. GO AT&T!
